2 Historic Roswell Tour Itinerary

Treasure hunters, cotton mills and Union soldiers: They all left a footprint in Roswell’s history beginning with the day that town founder Roswell King traveled along the old Indian trails to the Chattahoochee River and Vickery Creek in search of gold. It is history well preserved through rich natural resources, mill landmarks, beautiful antebellum homes that survived the Civil War, a historic district that charms with antiques and specialty shops, tea room and sidewalk cafés, and storytellers who recall some of the most poignant chapters of Historic Roswell’s past.

3 Southern Is as Southern Does Day Trip Itinerary

Experience the life and times of some of Historic Roswell’s earliest settlers and most prominent citizens at antebellum homes that contain many original family possessions. These living history links to the past sit on grounds that look much today as they did when these families lived, worked and played in Roswell in the 19th century. This being the South, engage in the pastimes that Southerners love: taking tea or people watching at a sidewalk café, shopping for antiques, listening to storytellers spin yarns of days of yore.

4 Watchable Wildlife Itinerary

Historic Roswell has its gracious good manners, but it also has a wild side, too. Go rafting or canoeing on the Chattahoochee River. Hike to the old mill ruins, photographing flora and fauna along the way. Explore wildflowers and wildlife in woodlands and wetlands. Explore Roswell’s Historic District on a walking tour and take a spirited stroll on an evening ghost tour.
