Clarissa Clifton, a living history interpreter, demonstrates open-hearth cooking using traditional 19th century southern recipes centered on Black and African food ways. Clarissa explains the methods of cooking over an open fire using traditional cast iron cookware and nineteenth century utensils. Please note that this is for educational demonstration purposes only. Food will not be provided to participants due to food safety regulations.
