Residents can look forward to a new restaurant district in Roswell.
Thanks to the actions of Roswell's City Council at their June 24 meeting, the “Crabapple Road Restaurant District” was approved for a property at the intersection of Crabapple Road and Crossville Road.
While the site just south of the intersection currently contains offices, a new proposal would redevelop that property into restaurants, cafes, and offices, with a large central green area in the center. It was this communal area that necessitated the district designation to allow for the open-carry of alcohol within the property.
Roswell has a similar district on Canton Street.
“This is an exciting opportunity to create a new restaurant district and incentivize redevelopment of an older property within the City,” said Mayor Kurt Wilson. “It’s worked amazingly well for Canton Street, spurring development and resident interest, and we are expanding on that.”
