Tucked Away in Roswell

Want to know the spots that not even all of the locals have been to? Follow along!

Every town seems to have places that they're well-known for and also local spots that are tucked away. In getting to know the community more and more, hidden gems come to light. We can't wait for you to explore these Roswell locales.

Big Creek Mountain Biking Trails

Roswell is a very bike-friendly community with a number of paths and trails for bikers and cyclists to take advantage. Big Creek Park, is home to a hiking trail system, a greenway for walkers and street bikers to use, but tucked away in the woods, you can find mountain biking trails. These trails are for all skill levels. If you don’t own a mountain bike, no fear! Just rent one from any of the local shops listed here.

Garrard Landing Park

One of Roswell’s most visited spots is Old Mill Park to see the Covered Pedestrian Bridge and Vickery Creek Falls. What many don’t know is you can see a second covered bridge at Garrard Landing Park! On the east side of Roswell is one of the loveliest parks in Roswell’s award-winning park system. Tucked behind the Johns Creek Environmental Campus, you can find the second covered bridge, trails, a playground, and a put in/takeout spot for the Chattahoochee River. Perfect for the families with kiddos that want easy, mostly flat paths, that are fun to explore and less crowded.

Seven Branches Trails

Another tucked away park on the east side is Roswell’s Seven Branches Trail. Right next to East Roswell Park, you'll find the start of this trail. We recommend using the map created by Roswell Creekways here to show you where to hike. Opened in the fall of 2019, you'll feel like you have the woods to yourself while exploring the trail.

Computer Museum of America

Taking a break from the outdoors and tucked in with a movie theater, mini-golf and Whirlyball, the Computer Museum of America is a treasure trove of technology. Open on Fridays and Saturday’s, you can find supercomputers, a timeline of technology gadgets, an Apollo 11 exhibit, and a vintage gaming corner! CMoA regularly hosts events as well. Before you go, see what added fun they have going on that weekend on their website.

Art Around Roswell

As you drive around town, you'll notice some sculptures placed throughout Roswell. What you probably didn’t know is that those sculptures are part of the Roswell Arts Fund, “museum without walls”, the Art Around Sculpture Tour. You can find a map on their website to see the permanent and temporary sculptures. To expand on the experience, download the free Otocast app to hear directly from the artists that created these incredible sculptures!

Chamberlain's Chocolate Factory

Now, onto something sweet! As you explore, you'll definitely work up an appetite. Tucked away, you'll find Chamberlain's Chocolate Factory. Grab something from their display, or sign up for a chocolate making class! Either way, it will be the perfect way to end your day of finding all of these Roswell hidden gems.
