11th Anniversary Bid Whist Card Party

This classic card game has been a cherished tradition since the Civil War.

The Kings and Queens Chapter of the American Bridge Association and Roswell Roots are proud to host the 11th Anniversary Bid Whist Card Party. The game of Whist, a precursor to bid whist and bridge, has been around since the 1700s, when it was a favorite of London gambling houses. During the Civil War, African Americans were introduced to the game and were said to have put the “bid” in Bid Whist.
